ARGO, Ala. — The City of Argo is reminding business owners, contractors, service providers, vendors, and rental property owners that conducting business within the City may require a City of Argo business license.

To help residents and businesses better understand these requirements, the City has created a dedicated Business License Information page on its website, outlining who may need a license, the types of businesses and activities covered, and how to begin the application process.

Who May Need a Business License?

Business licensing requirements extend beyond traditional storefronts and offices. Depending on the nature and location of the business, a City of Argo business license may be required for:

• Businesses operating within City limits: Retail establishments, offices, restaurants, professional services, and other businesses maintaining a physical location in Argo.
• Contractors and service providers: Construction companies, electricians, plumbers, HVAC contractors, remodeling professionals, and others performing work within the City.
• Food trucks and event vendors: Mobile food operations, temporary vendors, and businesses participating in local events.
• Rental property owners: Individuals or businesses renting residential or commercial properties, including short-term vacation rentals.
